The energy at the Royal Opera House was infectious. Many in the audience were stunned by instruments like the wooden clapper khartal, the bowed kamaicha and the double flute algoza. In their bright ghaghras, two ghoomar dancers added to the magic.

The true ambassador of Rajasthani folk music – Kutle Khan brought alive the different colours of Rajasthani folk music from the desert. The show began with the Desi nagada’s creating the feel and environment of Folk culture from the land of love followed by the sweet melody of the Khamaycha and sarangi.
Each country has their own folk music but here, in India, each State has its own. And so it was quite a revelation when the “Sounds Of The Desert” arrived in Mumbai on January 25, 2019 at the Royal Opera House, under the aegis of ShowCase Events’ Nanni Singh.
Sounds From The Desert is a true treat of the real Rajasthan. A show where you will get to hear the sounds of the beautiful instruments of Rajasthan, we will also showcase the Ghoomar, our traditional dance. The songs you will get to hear will be a mix of traditional and those traditional ones which are very popular.
